Varun Gandhi should not be allowed to contest elections

It is clear that Varun Gandhi is guilty of delivering a hate speech. He has violated the law and should be dealt with according to the law. In fact, others like Govinda, Mulayam Singh Yadav and Menaka Gandhi who have been reported to have been giving cash should also be dealt with strictly according to the law. Politicians think they are above the law which they are not. They always blame political vendetta as an excuse but EC should not listen.

Its time that BJP should also take a stand. It should send a clear message that it will not support the kind of hate speeches that Varun Gandhi has made. I believe if BJP wants to build its credibility, it should not give ticket to Varun Gandhi.

I had read a headline in one of the English newspapers which posed the question “Where are all the young men?” suggesting that young men were needed to contest the elections. I think Varun Gandhi’s behaviour clearly suggests that age is not an issue. What is required in India are people who are honest and will do their best to act in the best interest of the country and its citizens as a whole. To do this, age, gender or caste is not a factor.
