What is wrong? What should be done?

LK Advani and Black Money

Yesterday, I had posted a blog reagrding this subject but the numbers given by me were wrong. The latest issue of Tehelka suggests that as much as Rs. 50,000 crores is involved in the Lok Sabha election 2009. Needless to say, most of it of the black variety. Now since BJP is one of the major party, it can safely be assumed that it is also spending a proportionate amount out of the above mentioned amount. So the first step that LK Advani should talk about is reducing the black money in the elections. In others words, getting the black money out of the politicians.

Also, US based Global financial Integrity (GFI) has suggested that nearly $27 billion dollars flows out of India every year. Now thats a lot of money. As suggested by me in my earlier blog, LK advani should first stop the generation of black money every day and every year rather than focusing on whats already outside.

It isn’t surprising that LK Advani or BJP or for that matter no political party or politician has any plans to takle the black money problem. The reason is obvious. The politicians have a vested interested in not stopping the generation of black money. For instance, if the politicians are investing thousands of crores to fight elections, you can be rest assured that they will try to make more than what they had spent which will lead top more corruption and more generation of black money.

So, I humbly suggest to Shri LK Advani that he needs to focus of the right issues because we can be folled once, maybe twice but not all the time.
